The Journey to Earth

There were three big islands flying in the sky. Each island had their different habitats. One of them was an ocean, another was a jungle, the last island had a lot of sand, like a desert.

There were million of strange animals, that lived on the island. Many strange creatures, people had never seen living on Earth.

I was one of these animals. I had strong wings, sharp gray teeth and a rough green body. I looked like a flying lizard.

Everyday, I would fly to different places. First, I would go to the ocean. The ocean island looked like a gigantic, blue fridge.

The second island was covered with plants, there were no rivers, ponds or lakes, but there were lots of carnivorous plants. To eat millions of insects a day was a piece of cake for the carnivorous plants.

One day, I decided to have a journey down on the earth, so I flew down from the sand island. A big jet suddenly flew over me, I was frightened, I had never seen a jet before!

When I got to earth, I flew over a busy city. The cars were driving around , and the factories polluted the air with poisonous chemicals. It smelled terrible! I breathed in the polluted air, and felt sick.

“Help! Help!” I shouted, I was on the floor of my bedroom. Oh no! I had a nightmare, I wasn’t really a poisonous lizard, I was Tobby. However, my behind hurt, ”Ouch” I said. I got up and drank some hot milk, so I could sleep well again.

This dream taught me to not go to dangerous places, then I won’t get hurt. Even though the dream was strange, I have learned something and I think it was spectacular.

The Best School- Sesame Street School

One day, at Do Re Mi Elementary School…

There was a final exam for English, but Elmo didn’t do it very well. He felt very sad, so he asked his best friend-Cookie Monster for help.

“Cookie Monster! How can I get a good grade on English final test? What can I do?” Elmo asked. Cookie Monster answered, “You can go to OK English School, they can help you get a better grade.”

Then, Elmo went to OK English School…

When he arrived OK English School, he saw some students very unhappy and some students sleep in the classroom.

He thought if learning English was like that, he would never be improved.

So, he went to ask Grover, “How can I get a good grade in English? What can I do?”

“You can go to Sesame Street English School, they can tell you more about English!” Grover said.

Next, he went to Sesame Street English School…

“Thank you, teacher, we love English!” While Elmo was visiting Sesame Street English School, he heard this sound, he saw everyone smile happily on learning at Sesame Street English School, so he decided to study at Sesame Street School.

Elmo started to learn English at Sesame Street School. He learned a lot and felt very pleasant,too. He learned English hard there and he had improved a lot.

After that, his final test was coming soon…

“Ya! I got one hundred! Thank you Sesame Street School! I love you!” Elmo shouted loudly. He told everyone to come to Sesame Street School and all of the Muppets will become smarter and terrific.

Elmo can do it, you can do it, too!

A Magic Book

One day, I went to the library with my friend, Eric. The library was quiet.

However, Eric came to me and said, “Amy, look! This is a book without words and pictures.”

When I opened the book, suddenly, something happened. There was a strong wind blowing on us. We couldn’t see anything.

At that moment, we landed in a forest. And there was an old man next to us. He said, “Welcome, our king and queen.” That made us feel confused.

“Wait! We are not the king and the queen of your kingdom. There must be something wrong.” said Eric.

However, the old man insisted that we were the owners of the kingdom and asked us to go with him.

Along the path, we saw some beautiful flowers. When we walked to the end of the path, we found that there was a field.

The field was filled with garbage. It looked just like a wasteland. There were many poor people living there. That made us feel surprised.

“Please help us. It used to be a great and beautiful country. Three years ago, some mobs came and destroyed our home.” the old man said.

Eric and I looked at each other, and we decided to help them.

We looked for some broom makers to make everyone a broom and asked some animals, like gorillas, lions and eagles for help.

Everybody cleaned and picked up the trash together. We also rebuilt some buildings.

Three months later, the field became clean. And the air was fresh, too.

In order to appreciate us , the old man gave us a book. To our surprise, there were no words inside the book again.

Before Eric and I knew what was going on, we were back in the library.

“What a journey!” We said together as-we-looked at each other overwhelmingly.

Two naughty monkeys

Two naughty monkeys were living in a Japanese zoo. The monkeys lived together with many other animals. Most of the animals loved the zoo, but these two naught monkeys didn’t!

The monkeys wanted to escape because they wanted to be free. They wanted to go out into the world and have adventures.

They decided to escape one dark night. They stole a key from a zoo keeper, and opened their cage quietly.

The next day, the zoo keepers found out that the monkeys had escaped. Two zoo keepers yelled, “Those two naughty monkeys are very dangerous! We need to catch them and put them back in their cage!”

The monkeys first went to the supermarket to steal some bananas. When the clerk saw them, the clerk tried to catch the monkeys. However they ran too fast, so the clerk couldn’t catch them.

Outside they saw many cars and motorcycles. The cars made a lot of smoke and noise, they didn’t like that. A car almost hit them. It was very dangerous.

Finally, they got to the amusement park. Inside they saw many people and many kinds of games. Now, this was exciting!

They climbed onto the “roller-coaster.” When the roller-coaster started to go, the two monkeys felt excited.

But it got faster and faster, they felt scared! They screamed “Ahhh!” and they almost flew out into the sky. When they got off, they were dizzy and they wanted to throw up.

They decided the outside world was very crazy, noisy and scary! But, they didn’t want to go back to the zoo. So, where could they live? Outside the park, they met another monkey.

Then the monkey told them to follow her, because she knew a great place called the “Jungle.”

When they got to the jungle, they saw many bananas and many monkeys! They danced and sang together, happily.

It was fun to have more friends. Now, they really were happy to be free!

A Martian From Mercury

It was a hot and sunny day. Jack was playing baseball in the park.

Suddenly, a strange person who had only one big eye and one big mouth appeared. He didn’t have a nose or ears. Jack was scared.

The strange person said, ”Hi! I am Nick and I am from Mercury. How about you?” Jack didn’t feel scared anymore because Nick sounded friendly.

Then Jack said, “Hello! I am Jack and I am a five-year-old boy. Nice to meet you.” They chatted happily and became good friends.

During the conversation, Jack knew that Nick was from Mercury and he came to Earth for a trip as a birthday gift.

The next day, Jack showed Nick how to ride a bike and let him try what pizza tasted like. They felt terrific to do these things together.

After a week, it was time for Nick to go home, but neither of them felt good about it.

Jack didn’t want Nick to leave him, but Nick really needed to go back to his planet for school and his family were waiting for him.

Nick gave a photo to Jack and said goodbye.

A spaceship appeared in the sky and s strong light lifted Nick up from the ground and took him away.

When the spaceship disappeared in the air, Jack cried loudly.

He would never forget his friend.

What I Want To Be

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please listen. There are many things I want to do when I grow up.

First, I want to teach in a school because I like to teach students.

Next, I’ll be a clown in the circus and I can walk on shaky wires because I am not afraid of heights.

Then, I want to be a movie star and sit in a limousine or I can be a fashion queen.

I also want to be an astronaut and fly in the solar system. I will build buildings on the other planets and I want to live on Saturn.

Though my math is not good, I want to be a bank teller like my mother. Being a good photographer like my father is not a bad idea, either.

Feeding chickens and pigs on the farm like my grandfather is also my choice.

After that, I can be a scientist and I will make a big robot or make some flying cars.

Since I can drive a bigger truck, I want to be a construction worker, too.

I can be a businesswoman and make a lot of money.

I will give some money to poor children. I hope I can make their lives better than before.

Who can know the future for sure? Who can decide what to be at this moment? There will be so many different jobs for us to do in the future.

Kevin’s Dream

Kevin was very tired, so he went to bed very early. He had a dream. In his dream, he was in a house. Everything was very big, but he was very small.

Then, he heard some noise. He saw a huge woman walking to him. That was his Mom.

He shouted loudly, but his mother did not hear him. He was very sad. He continued walking.

He saw a bug crawling to him. He was very scared, but the bug did not want to eat him. It was friendly. Kevin was happy.

The nice bug told him that the road ahead was very dangerous and kindly gave him some food to eat.

Kevin and the bug walked through many rooms, the bathroom, the dining room, the kitchen and the living room, and they did not see anyone.

The bug took Kevin to its friends. Its friend said to Kevin, “There are many mice in this house. Be careful!”

When night came, it was very dark. Kevin was scared. He bumped into something. Then that thing turned around. It was a big mouse.

He screamed as loudly as he could. Suddenly, the mouse turned and chase him and he ran away as fast as a horse.

Finally, the mouse caught him. Kevin felt terrible because the monster mouse was opening its huge mouth and was ready to eat him alive.

Then, Kevin felt someone shaking him. He saw his father and mother when he opened his eyes. He knew it was a bad dream.

Kevin’s mother and father made hot chocolate for him and promised him the bad dream would go away.

Star

A long long time ago, a bat was born in forest. His name was Star. His mother loved him very much. Every night Star held onto his mother and they flew in the sky to find foods.

One night, an owl wanted to catch them. Star’s mother tried to fly away from the owl, but the owl caught them over and over again. Finally, Star’s mother was hurt and fell down.

Then, Star was lost in the forest. The branches caught Star. Star hung from a branch, but he was scared. He used his wings all round his body. “Mother, where are you?” Star said.

All of a sudden, he fell into a nest. The three little birds were scared and said “Who are you?”

Then, the bird’s mother came back, she didn’t find out about Star. She took many bugs to feed her babies and Star. Star was so hungry, but he didn’t like the bugs. Finally, Star opened his mouth to eat a big grasshopper.

He started to be a bird in the day and to learn to fly.

One day, Star and three birds flew to leave home. They flew for many hours. Suddenly, the three birds got lost. Star flew by himself.

He was very tired, so he stayed in a tree and slept.

When he woke up, he saw his sister Moon.

He was so happy, Moon took him to see their family. Now they can live together and be very happy.

Ernie’s Big Change

He couldn’t believe what had happened! So, he decided to make a big change and become more active.

First, he went to YaNi’s Golf Summer Camp. As hard as he swung, the golf ball always fell right into the pond. But, he didn’t get discouraged.

He just dove right into the pond and practiced his swimming, too!

Then, he went to the New York Knicks Basketball Winter Camp. He dribbled and passed all day long. But he could never get a basket. Once again, Ernie didn’t get discouraged.

Even if he couldn’t get a basket, Ernie got lots of practice running.

Although it was hard, Ernie had grit and determination. He still believed that Betty Lou was waiting and he would win her back.

After his experience, he became an active boy who helped others by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in his community.

He managed to help a few people this way, but decided it wasn’t enough.

He began going on local TV and radio programs to spread awareness with his incredible story.

His message caught on and soon everyone wanted him on their show. Through his hard work, Ernie made the transformation from a lazy computer-addict to an international fitness expert. It just goes to show that with the right attitude, anything is possible.

A perfect pet for Jane and Ann

It was a sunny day. Jane and Ann were talking about the animal that they would like to have most of all.

Then, they saw a tall man walking his dog in the park.

It could do many tricks, like sit down and stand up.

He could bow and get slippers for its owner. How smart he is!

The dog stopped next to Jane and Ann. It seemed very friendly. It had two small ears, two big eyes, a small body and four short legs.

Jane and Ann wanted to have such a smart pet, too, so they went to a pet store. They found their favorite pet, a cat, and named it Mimi.

They also practiced many tricks with her every day. Mimi loved to have training courses with them because she thought it was fun to look at them feel proud for her.

After they took Mimi home, they made sure that she always had the best life. She even had her own pink bed.

After Jane and Ann had trained their cat for such a long time, they decided to enter Mimi in an animal contest.

It was the day for the contest. Jane, Ann and Mimi were excited because it was Mimi’s first contest.

Mimi did so well on stage. She danced and counted math, so people were surprised.

However, Mimi didn’t get the first prize. She was second, but Jane and Ann were still proud of her. They said, “It’s ok. You will always be our favorite pet. We can join the contest again next year.”

Ella’s Birthday Party

Ella’s Birthday was coming on Sunday, April first and she planned to have a party. She had to prepare many things.

First, she called her friends to join her birthday party and they all promised to come on time. That made Ella feel great.

Second, she cleaned the house. Her mother helped her to mop the floor.

Third, she made many party hats with her sister.

Fourth, she made the cake, but she still couldn’t do it alone. So, her sister helped her.

Fifth, she washed her party dress by herself.

Sixth, she went to the supermarket to buy some ice-cream, juice, plates and cups.

A week passed, Ella’s birthday party took place and her friends came to her house to celebrate her birthday.

They played games before Ella passed out the party hats.

Then, they sang “Happy Birthday” happily together and enjoyed the cake.

Finally, she opened the presents and that made her fell surprised. She got many cards and lovely dolls. Her parents gave her a pink and blue bike because they were her favorite colors.

After the birthday party, they all felt terrific. Ella thought it was the best birthday that she ever had.
